Energy Experiment Update
So… the question is .. did my attempt to save Gas with my experiment work?
Yes it did. I saved about 20% on my gas usage last week in comparison to the week before. I had hoped to save more like 50% because the boiler was programmed to be on only about 50% of the time compared to the week before.
In terms of whether I noticed any difference in temperature from one week to the next, the answer is NO - not at all. However, it was a milder week in general.
I am going to continue with this experiment. I have also this week turned down the temperature that the radiators reach very very slightly.
Gas Usage before experiment: 43 units= 483kWh = £13.13 (with my tariff at EquiGas)
Gas Usage with 1st energy saving idea: 35 units = 396kWh = £10.79 (with my tariff at EquiGas)
Aim for the week… to get it below £10 for the week.
